We welcome with open arms any and all good fathers (DADS) who really love their children and want the best for the children.  Men who are concerned and not afraid to speak up against injustices.  Men who are brave, loving and wonderful role models.  Men who work hard and men who bring joy into the lives of those around them.  Fact is as members of the human race, we need men and women both.

We are not blind to the fact that women are not all made of sugar and spice and men of puppy dog tails.  We know there are good and bad in all.

However, we as advocates for abused children have come to realize that for far too many years, when abused children disclose abuse of one parent and the other tries to protect the child, that parent is often ripped from their protective parent's custody and placed into the hands of abusers.

Most of the time the protective parent losing custody for following the law is the MOTHER.  We are not saying or advocating that abusive parents are all fathers but that protective parents who lose custody are generally the mother.

There are very few support groups for mothers and it is very unfortunate but when a mother loses custody for trying to protect her child, society often treats the mother as a pariah.  It is common for human nature to feel a mother without custody did something to deserve it.  However, a father without primary custody is not thought of badly.

This site is not created to bash dads but to enlighten the public as to the realities our children are faced with.

There are many groups calling themselves father's rights group.  They often have non profit status and yet the courts (family courts with juridiction of the mother's children)  have shut down groups when the mothers try to make groups for support of mothers.  We leave it to the public to decide if they are actually for children or simply male supremist groups or a combination of both.  We would like the public to go to their sites and research them before blatantly believing what they say which sounds good.

There is a saying that any man can be a father but it takes someone special to be a dad.  We all know what the author meant and he was so right.  A good dad never puts himself before his children. On this site the term DAD will be for the special men who are protectors of children and do the best for the child.  They are not selfish or self serving.

A dad can be a birth father, grandfather, foster father, stepfather or any male who the child looks upon as dad.

DAD does not take the child away from a good mother

DAD does not prevent a child from talking on the phone with mom

DAD does not continue to fight the mother long after the divorce

DAD does not make up false charges against the mother

DAD when told the child has reported abuse, seeks to discover why and to protect the child

DAD does not verbally abuse the mother, child or anyone else

DAD does not take the home away from the children

DAD does not leave his family for another person

DAD even when divorced, remember his family and is there for the children

DAD does not let a stepmom hurt the children

DAD does not let the stepmom criticze the child's mother

DAD does not allow the stepmom to insist the children call her mom, she is not the mother

DAD always remembers that he is DAD and that stepmom is an extension of him and not a substitute for him

DAD never insists on visitation or custody simply to take a child away from mom or to be hurtful to mom.

DAD does not use the child as a pawn to hurt mom.

DAD does not get drunk around the children

DAD does not do drugs

DAD does not hide income from the courts

DAD does not bring unsavory men or women around his children or leave them with strangers

DAD knows that sometimes his little girl wants nothing more than a Sunday walk with Dad and other times that is simply boring to the child

DAD knows a little boy sometimes wants to go fishing with DAD but sometimes that is the last thing the same child wants.

DAD knows his kids

DAD knows being divorced does not change the love between a parent and child even though other things do change

DAD knows a child is not a piece of wood to be split  down the middle

DAD knows that as a child gets older, the child wants to be with friends more and more but that doesn't mean the child doesn't love or want Dad

DAD knows a child wants a stable home, a home with neighbors and friends nearby.

DAD does not beat the mother.

DAD does not beat the child

DAD does not rape the child

WE KNOW  DADS KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR THE CHILDREN and REAL LOVING DADS WILL DO WHAT IS RIGHT

The world needs more DADS.  DADS as role models and DADS to help protect children.
