Relatives of a man suspected of killing his three children and himself in Melbourne say he appeared happy.
37-year-old Rajesh Osborne was found dead yesterday in the bedroom of his Roxburgh Park home. Near him were his three children, 12 year-old Asia,10 year-old Jiris and seven year-old Grace.
Police say two of the children were found slumped over the bed with gunshot wounds, the third child dead on the floor. They're treating the matter as a suspected murder suicide.
Mr Osborne's mother, his girlfriend and her five year-old daughter discovered the bodies after returning from a shopping trip.
The deceased children's mother, who lives in another Melbourne suburb, has been notified by police.
'He was always so happy,' said neighbour, Vasa, who said her children played with his kids on a daily basis.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ron Iddles of the homicide unit said there appeared to be no warning signs in the man's life.
His girlfriend and mother have told police they are baffled as to why the tragedy occurred.
'When a father takes the lives of his own three children, I can't comprehend it and I don't think anyone in the community can comprehend it,' he told reporters.
'I think everybody here, every member of the police force, even the coroner's office, will be affected by this, and the community.'
