FORT WASHINGTON, Md. - A mother and son were found dead Monday morning in an apparent murder-suicide, Prince George's County Police say.
Investigators believe 65-year-old Patricia Ann Corder shot and killed her 39-year-old son, Tracy Adam Corder, before killing herself.
The bodies were found in the home they shared in the 1600 block of Clarion Terrace.
Police say a recent diagnosis about Patricia Ann Corder's health may have contributed to the incident.
"She was recently, from what we are told based on our preliminary investigation, recently diagnosed with a terminal illness," Deputy Chief Kevin Davis says.
"We suspect that had something to do with the murder-suicide."
The woman's son - who was in his 30s - was partially paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair, police say.
Davis says the family lived in neighborhood for a long time and there hadn't been any trouble with them before.
