http://calendar.topekachamber.org/events/index.php?com=detail&eID=15957

The Global Village Bazaar will feature fairly-traded gifts from around the world from suppliers including Ten Thousand Villages, The Survivor Network, Equal Exchange and Heifer International. Products include hand-made jewelry, home décor, Christmas ornaments, baskets, sculpture, fiber art, coffee, alternative gifts and more. UUFT members will also sell their wares. Youth will sell handmade candles and baked goods to benefit UUFT’s religious education program. The Knit Wits fiber art group will sell knitted and crocheted items to benefit survivors of domestic violence at the YWCA Center for Safety and Empowerment. Fair trade products are produced to cause minimal environmental impact while providing artisans, usually living in impoverished areas, with new economic opportunities, fair wages and good working conditions.
