Brevard County Florida: Domestic Violence Ignored
Less than two weeks ago in Brevard County, there was a SWAT team standoff involving father Christopher Lynch holding his wife and children hostage (see If You Want Protection from Domestic Violence in Brevard County Florida, Seek Elsewhere). Christopher Lynch's name was originally withheld from media reports although it was noted that he had a previous "domestic charge" that was not prosecuted.
Upon a little digging, we know that 18th Circuit Court of Brevard County judges James H. Earp, T. Mitchell Barlow, and John D. Moxley, Jr. have been responsible for the domestic violences cases--adjudication withheld, dismissed.
What ever happened? We don't know. Mum is the word in the Space Coast region.
And now, in Brevard County, there is a missing three year old child, kidnapped by his father, Paul Martikainen, during a court-ordered/allowed supervised visit. There is a history of "alleged" abuse noted.
Upon a little digging, we find a history similar to that of Christopher Lynch: VIOLENCE.

My ex husband works for the brevard county sheriffs dept, he was awarded primary custodian of our three children despite admitting physical abuse during the court proceedings, now here we are 3 years later and my 7 year old daughter is reporting that she has been sexually abused. I have summer visitation with my children. I live in Massachusetts. While at a dr. visit here in Mass my daughter disclosed the abuse. It was reported to the police here then reported to dcf here who sent the case to brevard county cps because that i the min state of residency of the kids and where the abuse occurred. There is also a concurrent investigation being done by the Brevard county sheriffs dept svu. I was able to get a temp. restraining order her in mass that is only in effect until Aug 5th and only for my daughter, my twin boys, 10, are now reporting that they have been abused as well. Mass courts are saying that they can not do anything as it is a florida issue that brevard county has jurisdiction. The restraining order was put in place July 21st 2011. Giving me 2 weeks to find the funds to get to fly to florida, find a place to stay and a means of transportation in order to file an emergency injunction for protection from domestic violence with minor children. I have called cps and the BCSO-SVU to see if there is anything they can do to keep my children with me until the investigations come to a conclusion. They all claim there is nothing they can do. So unless I am somehow able to come up with the money to get to florida my children will be going back to their father on Aug. 5 , 2011 back into the hands of the father that sexually abuses my daughter and 2 sons. I run CourtWatchBrevard.org. we are concerned primarily about women and children in domestic violence/child abuse cases. We are a group of DV victims of our abuser and the courts here, we are students, and we are also citizens who know or knew a victim we love. We need to document these cases. Anyone who can put me in touch with any woman with a similar story from Brevard County- please email me.
Violence/Child Abuse is no laughing matter! It is safe to say that a lot of people don't see justice in relation with custody over children! This should be further investigated by

My boyfriend beat me up black eye and he split my cheek open and blood and bruises all over my body and scraps rug burn and state attorney said he dont see a case and probably not going to pursue the case because its not strong case this is his third battery domestic violence and has other violent but 3 times is habitual and he is only charge with a misdormeanor what should I do to get them to pursue the bruises are evidence and I am the victim willing to testify and I have a witness but she stays drinking so state attorney say she is reluctant and she is not she is willing to testify
